When you do higher time expiration trading it gives you a couple of options that you can't do in 1 or 5-minute expiration fixed time trading.

Higher expiration trading gives you the option to close the trade before the expiry of your trade when you see the market is running against your trade forecast. This way you can close your trade with a small loss instead of losing the whole trading amount in 1 minute or 5-minute trading.

You can just close your trade in loss before expiry but you can also close a trade in profit before trade expiration. You can use this feature when you see your trade running in profit but because of a sudden new event or any other market sentiment, you think that this trade will close in loss in your due expiration time.

This is why 1 hour or more trade expiration time is more suitable for new traders who recently start fixed time trading because this gives you the opportunity to close your trade either in loss or profit before expiry when you see the market can move against your trade entry.

Short trading expiration is best when any major news or economic event happen. Like some experienced traders trade fixed time trading with 1 or 5 minute expiration time when news event like NFP (Non-Farm Payroll) occurs because when NFP data is released, the market becomes very volatile and moves both up and down.
