How to use Parabolic indicator in Fixed Time Trading on Olymp Trade Platform?

Meta Description:

Accurate predictions are the key to success in fixed time trading. Experienced traders use various technical indicators to analyze the market and find the best entry and exit points. In this blog post, we will tell you about one of the most popular indicators – Parabolic SAR. We will show you how to use this indicator when trading on the Olymp Trade platform.

What is a Parabolic SAR Indicator?

The Parabolic SAR indicator (Stop and Reverse) is designed to identify trend reversals. This indicator is often used in conjunction with other indicators (such as MACD, RSI, or Bollinger Bands) to confirm trade signals.

How does Parabolic SAR work?

The basis of the indicator’s operation is quite simple. During an uptrend, dots are placed below price candlesticks, while during a downtrend, dots are placed above candlesticks. When the direction of a trend changes, dots also change their position. Thus, the appearance of a dot above a candlestick during an uptrend signals a possible trend reversal.

How to use Parabolic SAR in trading?

When using this indicator, it is recommended to set two parameters:

  • the minimum stop level, and
  • the maximum number of points at which the stop can be moved (trailing stop).

For example, if you are trading on M5 chart, then you can set 0.0002 as your minimum stop level and 20 points as your trailing stop. This means that when using this indicator you should not enter the market if the stop is less than 0.0002 points away from the current candlestick, and you should exit the market when your stop reaches 20 points from the current candlestick price.

Conclusion:

The Parabolic SAR indicator is a popular technical tool that can be used to identify possible trend reversals. When combined with other indicators, it can help confirm trade signals. To use this indicator effectively when trading on the Olymp Trade platform, be sure to set the minimum stop level and trailing stop parameters.
